Dubai visa types
Citizens of Gulf Arab states do not need a visa to enter the UAE. Citizens of some other states can obtain a visa on arrival, while others must apply in advance. European travellers can visit the country with a visa.
The UAE government issues several types of visas and entry permits depending on the purpose of your visit:
- Tourist visa: valid for 6 months from the date of entry and entitles the holder to stay in the country for 30, 60 or 90 days, depending on nationality, with multiple entry. This includes transit visas, which are free of charge for 48 hours during a transit or 96 hours after payment of 50 dirhams.

Travel to Dubai

The Hungarian Consulate recommends that you should also keep your one-way ticket or boarding pass for 180 days to avoid any misunderstandings.
It is important to note that the passport must be valid for 6 months from the date of entry. If the visa expires, an extension of 30 days can be requested. Failure to do so will result in a fine of 100 dirhams per day, which will be enforced at the mandatory passport control when you leave the country. It is available for a further 30 days.
Many Hungarian citizens buy property, set up a company or take a job in Dubai. They are eligible for a business visa, so they can reside in the country and open a bank account during the period of validity of their visa.

Investor Visa for business owners:
Two types of company visas are available. In the UAE, it is possible to set up a local LLC (mainland llc) or a Freezone company, which must be registered in special free trade zones. The former can only be owned by a foreign national in 49%, whereas the Freezone company 100% can be owned by a foreign person.
Company owners, managers and employees are also entitled to a 2-year visa, if the company's resources allow. Detailed rules set out how many residence permits a company can grant. This is called a visa quota. Usually a freezone company has a visa quota of between 0 and 6.
